Questions about this product

What are the 3 types of upholstery fabric?

Popular upholstery fabrics are mainly woven fabrics, velours, velvets and chenilles. Woven fabrics are durable, breathable and have a pronounced texture, velours and velvets stand out for their softness and elegant look, and chenilles are thick, fluffy and cope well with everyday use.

What is the most durable upholstery fabric?

The most durable upholstery fabrics include densely woven fabrics and chenilles made of polyester or polyamide. Their resistance is increased by a compact weave, special protective coatings and a high Martindale test result, often upwards of 50,000–100,000 cycles.

Which upholstery fabric is best?

A good upholstery fabric should be durable, easy to keep clean and suited to how the furniture will be used. Velours, velvets, woven fabrics and flock are frequently chosen, combining good looks with resilience. When buying, consider how intensively the furniture will be used and whether children or pets live in your home.

What is the most fashionable upholstery fabric?

Current upholstery trends are dominated by bouclé, velour, velvet and corduroy, which is back in fashion. Fabrics with a distinctive, three-dimensional texture in warm, natural, earth-inspired colours are especially popular.

What is the best material for a sofa?

A good choice for a sofa is velour or a water-repellent material with an Easy Clean finish, which helps limit the absorption of liquids and makes cleaning easier. When choosing a fabric, consider how the furniture will be used day to day, whether there are children or pets at home, and your preferred interior style.

What is Imo fabric?

IMO fabric stands out for its modern look and three-dimensional surface. A special way of weaving in the pile makes the material soft and thick, with a characteristic melange texture.

What is a fabric swatch set?

A fabric swatch set is a collection of small pieces of material that lets you compare the available colours, textures and thicknesses. It makes it easier to assess the look and properties of a fabric before ordering a larger quantity for furniture or clothing.

How abrasion-resistant are upholstery fabrics?

Abrasion resistance describes how well a fabric withstands friction and wear in everyday use. It is measured with the Martindale test, and the higher the number of cycles, the more durable the material. Fabrics below 10,000 cycles are usually decorative, 20,000–40,000 cycles is enough for typical home furniture, and values above 40,000 indicate very high resistance.

Can you prepare a visualization of the furniture in my interior?

This will make it easier for you to assess the proportions of the furniture and its fit into the overall arrangement.

What if I'm unsure about the color or fabric?

You can order free fabric samples and check the material in your own home. A sample allows you to see the actual shade, texture, and how the fabric looks in daylight and artificial light. You can typically order up to 5 different samples.
